About me
I grew up in a family of artists, so I was given many opportunities to be creative from an early age. Mum and dad were potters and had a large workshop in the backyard, so while studying Art Education at university, majoring in Silversmithing, I set up a corner of their workshop to make jewellery.
Still to this day, I can't imagine doing anything else. There's nowhere I'd rather be than sitting at my bench creating jewellery with beautiful natural gemstones, no two ever quite the same.
I find inspiration in almost everything I see. Colour, texture, shape and form all combine to spark new ideas. I'm especially drawn to gemstones with character; the ones with inclusions, unusual colours and imperfections that make each one completely unique. I create intuitively, often allowing a gemstone to become the starting point for a design, with each piece evolving naturally as I work.
I love creating distinctly feminine pieces that celebrate the raw beauty of natural gemstones and pearls. Hammer-textured sterling silver and gold, together with unique natural gemstones, feature throughout my designs and have become a recognisable signature. The gemstones are always the star of the show, their flaws, inclusions and natural character at the heart of their beauty.
Whether you're choosing a piece to mark a milestone, remember someone special, or simply because it speaks to your heart, I hope my jewellery can become part of your story. Something that captures a memory, creates an emotional connection and is treasured for years to come. Jewellery that carries a memory, marks a milestone and reminds us of the people and moments that matter most.
Alongside creating jewellery, I also love teaching. As a fully qualified teacher, I offer classes in traditional silversmithing, gemstone setting, lost wax carving and metal clay. Whether you're just starting out or looking to build on your existing skills, I enjoy sharing what I've learnt and helping others discover the satisfaction of making something beautiful with their own hands.
