The Story Behind My Logo -
Angel Wings
The other day, someone asked me what the significance of my logo was—why angel wings?
I know the answer should have been a catchy marketing phrase, honed to perfection after attending numerous small business networking events. But for me, the angel wings are much more than a slogan; they’re a piece of my heart.
I began to ramble on about my inner journey and all the things that had influenced me along the way…
A Symbol of Love, Light, Hope, and Connection
The angel wings in my logo are an expression of my inner journey as an artist.
They symbolise love, light, hope, and connection.
Over the years, much of my inspiration has come from my favourite artist, Marc Chagall. His dreamlike art with symbols of love and resilience, has always resonated deeply with me. Like his work, my jewellery reflects my own personal experiences and emotions, designed to connect with others on a soulful level.
"If I create from the heart, nearly everything works; if from the head, almost nothing."
- Marc Chagall
From Mandalas to Wings
When I first started my small business in 2016, my logo was a simple mandala on a dark background— a generic design created without much thought, through Vistaprint.
At the time, life was busy. I was balancing a demanding job as the head of inclusive education at a local primary school, whilst also raising our two beautiful daughters. Jewellery-making became my escape, my art therapy.
The more I created the more my designs began to evolve. Darkened, oxidised silver, opaque stones, and bold designs gave way to raw, translucent stones, sparkling faceted stones, and lustrous pearls, set in ethereal designs.
Then came a pivotal moment: my first angel wing ring. It unlocked something within me, a connection with my inner light.
By the end of 2017, I stood at a crossroad. Following my heart, I left primary teaching to focus fully on creating jewellery. Angel wings became a symbol of my journey up to that point.
My jewellery connected me with so many like-minded people who were seeking pieces to capture stories and memories. Something to wear as a daily reminder of their own love, light, hope, and connection.
“Look Up”—My Guiding Mantra
Looking up to the vast skies above, night or day, has always brought me peace and perspective. Wings, angels, Pegasus, the sun and the stars - they all represent connection to something greater…the real magic of life.
These symbols and themes are intuitively interwoven into my work: starry nights, the sun, feathers, wings, light, reflection, and translucency.
A Logo That Guides
So, for me, my angel wing logo is a reminder of the light that guides me, my connection with others, the limitlessness of the skies above, and the beauty of the earth beneath my feet.
